Year 1 - Reading Focus
- Know literacy assessment options to support instruction.
- Understand how to write IEP goals tightly connected to current reading research.
- Understand how to monitor the progress of specific reading areas.
- Develop a repertoire of instructional routines and tools in the areas of basic reading, reading fluency, and reading comprehension.
- Identify specific instructional routines and tools to target students' IEP goals through specially designed and universal instruction.
Year 2 - Writing Focus
- Know literacy assessment options to support instruction.
- Understand how to write IEP goals tightly connected to current writing research.
- Understand how to monitor the progress of specific writing areas.
- Develop a repertoire of instructional routines and tools in the areas of written expression.
- Identify specific instructional routines and tools to target students' IEP goals through specially designed and universal instruction.
