Learn More

This service is designed to support principals in mastering impactful literacy instruction by focusing on high-leverage "look-fors" that identify key indicators of effective teaching. Principals will learn how to observe classroom practices, engage in meaningful follow-up conversations with individual teachers, and use emerging themes from these observations to inform professional learning opportunities.

By leveraging these insights, principals can create targeted professional development that directly elevates classroom instruction, drives student achievement, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement in literacy practices across the school.

Goals

  • Look-for documents that align to impactful literacy practices, and are customized to match district goals, practice changes, curriculum, etc.
  • Guided Learning Walks, with a CESA 6 consultant, to notice and discuss classroom instruction aligned to the look for documents.
  • Follow-up discussions with principal teams to analyze themes of instructional strengths and challenges, and guidance with next-step planning.
  • Co-designing feedback conversations and questions to build principal skills in working with teachers to improve instruction.
