PBIS Overview
CESA 6 provides a half-day PBIS Overview session is for district leadership teams interested in the why, what and how of implementing a School-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SW-PBIS).
The PBIS administrative overview is the first step in determining whether a district wants to implement PBIS practices in its schools. The course is a one day (6 hour) overview of PBIS. Included in this presentation are district and school commitments for success (what it takes to implement PBIS with integrity). Sample data, systems, and practice activities are conducted during this overview. This overview is for administrators, service providers and other individuals and employee groups such as school social workers and school psychologists.
PBIS Coaches and Principal Network
Coaches and principals provide facilitation for schools participating in PBIS at all three tiers. PBIS internal and external coaches guide school-based teams through the process of creating tiered behavioral and academic supports for all students using data-driven decision making. This network is designed to support the work of coaches and building administrators on the critical elements of the PBIS framework and also provides opportunities to network with other PBIS implementers, which increases implementation fidelity and sustainability. Michelle Polzin, Regional Technical Assistance Coordinator for the statewide PBIS network will be the facilitator for this group.
