Rooted in Science of Reading (“What We Know”) research, the modules are designed to provide administrators, other Literacy leaders, and teachers with what they need to develop a deeper understanding of how students learn to read (for both typical and atypical readers). The information includes which parts of the brain are responsible for reading development, what skills are involved, and how those skills work together. From this research, we identify evidence-based, high-leverage instructional practices for teaching foundational literacy skills, as well as teacher planning and self-reflection tools.
