Engage Students in Career Exploration

Inspire offers tools for educators to engage students in thinking about their careers, find relevance in what they are learning in the classroom and increase students’ career readiness.

This community-development platform helps students and career-seekers achieve their future career goals by bridging the gap between school and the work world. Inspire provides a central hub in which area students and educators can actively interact with area employers and career coaches with the goal of:

  • Helping students find relevance in what they are learning in the classroom
  • Engaging students early in thinking about their careers
  • Making a positive impact our region’s career readiness
     

Led by CESA 6

Inspire is led by CESA 6, dedicated regional economic & workforce development agencies, school districts, chambers of commerce and other community organizations. It is powered by Xello, a world leader in career exploration and planning software used in secondary, post-secondary, library and workforce institutions in Wisconsin and around the world.

Inspire makes connections easier. When community works together, it wins together.

What Inspire and CESA 6 Provide

  • Ability to connect to over 200 companies profiles and career related activities across 18 counties in the New North Region
  • Access to an unlimited company profiles across the state
  • Representation and coordination of Regional and required New North advisory board meetings
  • Technical assistance for students and staff with login and navigation access
  • INSPIRE data benchmarks provided to support growth goals around Academic and Career Planning
  • Recruitment of employers to serve as career coaches to support student career exploration goals
  • Recruitment of employers to partner with students as potential work based learning exploration sites
  • Recruitment of employers and community members to support career related activities (interviews, job shadows, tours etc)
  • Completion of background checks for all Career Coaches working with students and staff in the school district through the INSPIRE message board
  • Ability to efficiently locate volunteer opportunities for students
  • Ability to post events to appear on student portal and email accounts when students log into INSPIRE
  • Annual training provided for any employee interested in becoming a Career Coach so they are able to effectively support students
  • Toolkit access to support consistent student experiences with community members and employer partners
  • Ability to easily locate Work-Based Learning (WBL) Career opportunities for your students (e.g. apprenticeships, job shadows, plant tours, guest speakers and part time employment)
  • Opportunity to efficiently communicate with potential volunteers through mass email portal regarding career related activities (advisory boards, financial literacy events, mock interviews etc.)
  • Coordinator will continue to provide relevant and/or industry articles/stories for direct student access based on trending topics
  • Coordinator will provide data and highlights to use as promotional posts for your District in various social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Annual survey results regarding student experiences in career related activities
  • Teacher Externship Opportunities
  • Coordinator to presentations about activities to during school events for students/parents
  • Participation in events coordinated by INSPIRE, such as Career Fairs, Job Fairs, etc
  • Development and coordination of regional CTE advisory boards
