Short Cycle Predictive Assessments:
Using Data and Information to Improve School and Classroom Systems
Purpose:
Develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to use short cycle predictive assessments as a way to monitor and improve student achievement.
Expected Outcomes:
- Understanding of the role of the short cycle predictive assessments (SCPAs) in the school improvement process
- Understanding of the role of short cycle predictive assessments (SCPAs) as strategic indicators of classroom performance and the role of educators in using these data to make improvements in the classroom learning system
- Strategies for analyzing and reporting SCPA results to monitor and improve school-level strategies
- Strategies for assisting and supporting grade-levels, departments, and/or classrooms in implementing school-level strategies indicated by SCPA results
Target Audience:
Trained School Improvement Teams/Goal Teams and/or teachers using short cycle predictive assessments as strategic indicators of classroom performance
Participants Prerequisites:
Successful completion of School Improvement Planning for Performance Excellence, Continuous Classroom Improvement, and/or Teacher & Student Partnerships recommended but not required
Recommended Time:
1 day workshop for trained School Improvement Teams/ Goal Teams, teachers, and/or small group coaching and consulting sessions (two 4 hour sessions)
