Grant Writing Consortium

Overview

The Grant Office will:

  • Investigate and monitor a variety of public and private funding sources at the federal, state, and local levels;
  • Keep the client contact person advised of current funding opportunities, informing her/him of the major intents, qualifications and restrictions of each grant program;
  • Work with client contact person to determine whether a given grant program is an appropriate and viable option for the client’s educational mission and capacity;
  • Work with designated client representatives to identify and document in detail the relevant instructional gaps and educational needs of its students, parents, teaching staff, administrators, and communities;
  • Facilitate program development by: assisting designated client representatives in generating ideas for project components; locating and analyzing past successful grant projects and proposals; suggesting desirable collaborations and partnerships with community and area organizations; and, working with designated client representatives in formulating timelines, goals and objectives, grant budgets, evaluation strategies, and continuation/sustainability plans;
  • Prepare and submit competitive proposals: GROW normally helps with up to two grant proposals per year per client, depending on client capacity, and GROW's desire to give each of its clients a chance to experience grant-seeking success each year. Within these general guidelines, GROW may, at its discretion, and as the situation warrants, help prepare and submit more than two grant proposals for a single client in a single year;
  • Consult with designated client representatives concerning requests from grant program officers for additional information about submitted proposals prior to final funding decisions, as grant workloads and schedules allow; and,
  • Evaluate, critique, and edit grant proposals developed by client personnel, as grant workloads and schedules allow;
