IYS creates a positive environment through age-appropriate play and activities to encourage creativity and expression. Programming is highly-structured and allows youth to develop and practice skills learned in individual and group settings. We provide daily living activities, individual goal-focused ventures and social
learning models. Redirection and supports are in place if dysregulation occurs. In addition, IYS offers strength-based relationship building.
Our Mission
Believing that families are the best environment in which to grow, we are committed to a working partnership with families and other agencies to help children with special needs. IYS offers skill development to increase client safety at home and give children the ability to actively participate in the communities of Winnebago and Fond du Lac counties.
Program Goals
- We believe when children recognize and understand themselves as whole people with a range of strengths and skills, they rise.
- We respect and respond to our clients as whole individuals, where maladaptive behavior represents simply one element of their being.
- We understand youth who have comorbid mental health diagnoses and have multiple levels of functioning that need to be considered.
Respite Camp
With our 1:1 ratio and focused programming, we’re able to assist clients living with disabilities in better managing activities of daily living. Designing skill-building lessons to support children and their families in achieving success, we work collaboratively with informal supports and professionals across the spectrum of human service agencies to equip children for success.
Mentors help build:
• Social skills
• Self-regulation
• Executive functioning
• Self-awareness
• Problem-solving
• Daily living skills
Collaborating with both Winnebago County DHFS and Fond du Lac County DSS, we guide each client toward independence by empowering them with skills for success.
