Thank you for your interest in Substitute Teacher Training offered through CESA 6.  We are so happy that you are interested in substitute teaching as school districts throughout Wisconsin are in great need of substitute teachers!

Individuals who hold a (two-year) Associate’s degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university.  Training is geared to those NEW to Substitute Teaching and/or those interested in growing their skills as a Substitute Teacher.

Our training will teach and engage prospective substitute teachers in activities that mirror real classroom situations. Our certified instructor will model a variety of teaching methods that substitute teachers can use in the classroom. Additionally, participants will understand effective teaching principles to prepare for future substitute teaching assignments.

DPI requires training for those applying for the Three-Year Short Term Substitute Teacher License. If you have held or are eligible to hold an educator license, you will want to see if you qualify for the Five-Year Long-Term Substitute Teacher License (training not required).

Linked is information to help you learn more about the Three-Year Short Term Substitute Teacher License as required by DPI.

The Substitute Teacher module is non-refundable.
