Job Description: CESA 6 is seeking to employ a full-time Special Education Lead EBD Teacher to work at the CESA 6 New Horizons Alternative School Program in Larsen, WI. The individual hired for this position will have experience with behavior management and dealing with students with challenging behaviors. Competencies in special education law, academic/behavioral planning and programming, and skills in report writing required. This position will be responsible for directing alternative program policies and teaching core academics along with both social and life skills. The position requires adaptability to children’s physical and emotional needs. The individual hired will also be responsible for evaluating student’s strengths and weaknesses to assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Programs, Consultations, Parent-Teacher Instruction and In-services; and will serve as a member of the IEP Team.
Requirements: The individual hired for this position will have previous experience working with EBD students. Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Special Education Certification in 830 - Emotional Behavioral Disabilities or 801 - Cross Categorical license is required. High school licensure is desired.
The individual hired will be able to demonstrate knowledge of working in an alternative school setting. Experience working in this setting is preferred. Knowledge and expertise in special education law, as well as DPI regulations, pertaining to the implementation of special education practices, policies and procedures in the school setting is preferred.
