Job Description: The Hartford Union High School District is seeking a qualified full-time Director of Business Services. The position provides District-wide leadership, development, and administration of the financial operations and human resources functions. In addition, the position includes responsibilities in transportation, budget/financial planning, accounting, risk management, negotiations, educational planning, and employee benefits. Direct reports include the Human Resources Supervisor, Accounting/Payroll/Benefits support staff, Buildings and Grounds Supervisor, Food Service Supervisor, and Custodial Supervisor.
Candidates must have demonstrated high ethical and professional standards; demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and be highly organized with a strong background in time management. This position requires an understanding of governmental accounting and other business practices in order to fulfill the responsibilities of budgeting, financial planning, educational resource management, purchasing and supply management, administrative office services, risk management, administrative data processing, and fixed asset management.
Requirements: Candidates must possess a current Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction 08 license to practice as a Wisconsin School Business Administrator, be in the process of obtaining one, or be willing to obtain one. Experience in human resource management is preferred, but not required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in financial management and/or school district finance is required.
