Job Description: CESA 6 is seeking to employ a full-time Special Education EBD Teacher to work with students (ranging from elementary to high school) in our Alternative School programs. The individual hired for this position will have experience with behavior management and dealing with students with challenging behaviors. Competencies in special education law, academic/behavioral planning and programming, and skills in report writing required. The position requires adaptability to children’s physical and emotional needs. The individual hired will also be responsible for evaluating student’s strengths and weaknesses to assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Programs, Consultations, Parent-Teacher Instruction and In-services; and will serve as a member of the IEP Team.
Requirements: The individual hired for this position will have previous experience working with EBD students at the elementary/middle/high school levels. Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Special Education Certification in 830 - Emotional Behavioral Disabilities or 801 - Cross Categorical license is required. Certification working with students from K-8 or high school is required.
The individual hired will be able to demonstrate knowledge of working in an alternative school setting. Prior experience working in this setting is preferred.
